West Salem, Ohio –American Augers is proud to once again expand its maxi-rig product line to now include the DD-880, which is a perfect compliment when a large maxi-rig style horizontal directional drill is required to perform large diameter, or long reach pipeline and utility installation projects.

The DD-880 provides 880,000 lbs of maximum thrust/pullback capabilities, and 100,000 ft-lbs of maximum rotary torque. Standard unit is equipped with (6) rack and pinion carriage drive system with adjustable force limiter, 4” (102 mm) fluid course for increased down hole hydraulic power,  triple jaw wrenches with 12” (305 mm) separation, and maximum carriage speed of 130 feet(39 m)/per minute.

Design benefits also include a variable drill angle of 10° - 18°, wrench that travel the full length of the thrust frame, the ability to accommodate Range II drill pipe, dedicated pumps for rotary and thrust, and superior structural strength of the thrust frame.
